As we enter 2026, we reflect with pride and gratitude on the many milestones achieved in 2025. Over the past year, BAMA strengthened its presence and impact through meaningful community events across Southern California, delivered humanitarian assistance to victims of the Myanmar earthquake, and inaugurated the very first BAMA poster presentation at our Annual Dinner—an important step in advancing academic and professional engagement within our community.
Building on this momentum, we remain firmly committed to continuing programs that benefit the Myanmar community while also supporting and mentoring newly arrived Burmese American medical professionals as they navigate their careers in the United States.
The Executive Committee looks forward to the year ahead with renewed energy, welcoming new team members, fresh ideas, and expanded initiatives. As shared during last year’s Annual Dinner, we are pleased to announce that BAMA will be launching the BAMA Health Podcast soon. We invite all members to look forward to this new platform for public health education, dialogue, and outreach.
As we move forward together, we encourage our members to embrace a spirit of reconciliation—letting go of past misunderstandings and focusing instead on unity and shared purpose. We aspire to foster a culture grounded in mutual respect, professionalism, and collaboration, thereby strengthening BAMA’s image and influence both within the United States and internationally.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support. We look forward to another year of progress, service, and collective growth.
Yours sincerely,
Kyaw Khaing Soe, MD FACP
President, BAMA, 2026
