In collaboration with the Burmese Welfare Association and the Los Angeles Burmese Muslim community, the Burmese American Medical Association of Southern California hosted a complimentary community health seminar at Veterans Memorial Park in Culver City, California, on April 26, 2026.

In this episode, Dr. Aung Naing Min, a geriatrician and co-host of the podcast, sits down with Dr. Sandra Min, a primary care internist, for a thoughtful and practical discussion on obesity medicine—beyond diet and discipline.
The conversation explores what obesity really is, why it is more than just willpower or lifestyle choices, and the different approaches to management available today. The discussion is conducted in the Myanmar language and intentionally avoids medical jargon, making it accessible and relevant for the Burmese community.
