We’re excited to announce the 2026 BAMA Residency Information Seminar! It’s happening on Zoom on June 6th, 2026, from 6-8 PM (Pacific Standard Time).
This seminar is especially for Burmese medical graduates who are thinking about moving to the United States to continue their medical careers.
We’ll have some recently matched Burmese physicians share their inspiring stories about the challenges they faced. They’ll be discussing everything from ECFMG registration and primary source verification to the ERAS application, CV writing, personal statements, research applications, observer/externship opportunities, program selection, and the ups and downs of the application process. This year, we’re thrilled to have Dr. Yan Naung Htay, who’s graduating from the cardiology fellowship at Northeast Ohio Medical University, as our special guest speaker. He’ll be sharing insights on “Beyond Residency” to help inspire the next generation of physicians to achieve their goals.
If you’re interested, please join the Zoom meeting using the link below. If you know someone who might be interested in these topics, please spread the word!

If you haven’t listened to our debut episode about obesity by Dr. Aung Naing Min and Dr. Sandra Min, Please follow the links below.
In this episode, Dr. Aung Naing Min, a geriatrician and co-host of the podcast, sits down with Dr. Sandra Min, a primary care internist, for a thoughtful and practical discussion on obesity medicine—beyond diet and discipline.
The conversation explores what obesity really is, why it is more than just willpower or lifestyle choices, and the different approaches to management available today. The discussion is conducted in the Myanmar language and intentionally avoids medical jargon, making it accessible and relevant for the Burmese community.
I am grateful to the speakers, audience, and organizers for their efforts in making the community health talk successful. Thank you for sharing your expertise and for making the seminar informative and engaging. We are thankful for the 310 attendees who joined us on Facebook and Zoom livestream. Thank you!
